Calling all Customers! Help us Support Our Local Food Banks
Sep 04, 2025
Join Us as Part of Our Second Annual Grassroots Giving Food Drive
Last year, our customers donated over 4,954 pounds of food in support of our local food banks. This year, we need your help in trying to do even more! As part of our 2nd Annual Grassroots Giving food drive, Weed Man is mobilizing our trucks and our technicians to collect donations from our customers throughout the fall season! From Sept 3 - Sept 27, 2025, during your regularly scheduled lawn care services, we encourage you to leave non-perishable food donations on your front porch, and we will take care of the rest! From Sept 3 - Sept 27, 2025, we’re partnering with: Share Food Share Love (Arlington) Greater Cleveland Food Bank (Cleveland) Hobart Food Pantry (Merrillville) Racine County Food Bank (Racine) Community Harvest Food Bank (Fort Wayne) We will be collecting donations of non-perishable canned goods (fish, meat, beans, fruits, & vegetables). This cause has never been more important, as 1 in 8 households in the United States are currently facing food insecurity, while 1 in 5 Canadian families don’t have sufficient access to quality food and other basic needs. Donating is easy! The day before your next lawn care application during our Grassroots Giving campaign, you will receive a text or email reminder about your next service. During our visit, simply leave any food items for donation outside your front door (preferably in a box or bag). Your Weed Man technician will collect all items while they are there to complete your service. All donations will benefit our friends at our local food banks. If you have any questions about what the most requested donation items are for local families, or about what is/isn’t permissible for donation, just reach out to us at sjohnson@weedmanlawncare.us. Last year, the entire Weed Man fleet (both US and Canada) combined to collect over 76,000 pounds of food (the equivalent of 64,000 meals) across North America. And we need your help to do more this year! We hope you’ll join us in the fight against food insecurity in our community! What to Donate
